Admission Requirement and Procedure

Applicants for Admission to all programs must hold the minimum of a High School Diploma from an accredited or Ministry-recognized secondary institute or the official certification of successful GED completion. Students under eighteen (18) years of age on or before the first day of class must have parental consent. Those with former college/university courses may, if appropriate, complete a Petition for Transfer Credit at the time of initial admission or as soon thereafter as possible. Please verify that courses have been completed at an accredited or Ministry-recognized University or equivalent and that such courses are aligned in content and level with those offered at American National College. 


Applicants only enrolling in the English as a Second Language program must also provide proof of a trade or skill either by experience, certificate or an Higher Education degree.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS


In addition to fulfilling all entrance requirements, as noted above, every international student (living outside the United States), must provide proof of college level proficiency in English when their native language is not English (School must be accredited/recognized by the U.S. Dept of Education, CHEA, or the Ministry of Education in the residing country of the university) by means of ONE of the following:

  • A high school diploma completed where instruction is conducted in English.
  • A college transcript indicating a grade of C or higher in an English composition course.
  • College transcript indicating completion of 30 semester hours of credit with an average of "C" or higher where instruction is conducted in English.
  • Graduation from a school or university where instruction is conducted in English
  • A minimum grade of level 1 on the ACT COMPASS's English as a Second language Placement Test
  • A minimum grade of Pre-1 on the Eiken English Proficiency Exam
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) - Minimum score of 5.0 on the academic writing and academic reading modules.
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores ((hardcopy) (PBT) or online version (iBT), or computer-based (CBT)), score required for:
    Diploma Programs - 500 (PBT) or, 61 (iBT) or 173 (CBT)

Getting to Your Success


American National College is now offering a Fast Track College Readiness, credit-bearing course for certain students enrolling in our Degree Programs at the Associates level in Business Science and Healthcare Management.


Students whose first language is not English can still be offered admission to AMNC's academic programs without TOEFL or IELTS provided all other criteria are met.


You will earn extra credit by taking our Fast Track Readiness classes in the English language towards your degree program. In addition, the Fast Track Readiness Program prepares and equips you for success in your college career.


The Fast Track Readiness Program is offered alongside other courses, so you can complete your degree on time and on budget.
